Tech Endorsement

What Is It Needed For?

The Technical Endorsement is a workshop that will evaluate divers' skills required to enter GUE's technical and cave curricula.

The workshop is for all recreational GUE divers and divers certified on a recreational GUE Fundamentals level who are also competent in use of doubles and primary light, and also possess rescue skills. Divers entering this evaluation possess exemplary trim and buoyancy skills.

The Technical Endorsement can be earned during GUE Fundamentals, Recreational Diver Level 2 and Level 3 courses, or during any other foundational training. Positive completion will allow divers to enroll in GUE's Technical Diver Level 1 or GUE's Cave Diver Level 1 courses.

Now You Are Ready to Take the Next Step

Cave Diver Level 1

The GUE Cave Level 1 course provides an introduction to diving in an overhead environment. The fact that our environment is full of flooded underwater caves hidden from sight makes cave diving exciting and adventurous.

This unique environment requires proper training, and the GUE Cave 1 class provides divers with a thorough understanding of the cave environment as well as the potential dangers associated with cave diving. While the class prepares students to fully venture beyond the natural daylight zone, a conservative approach to gas management ensures that beginning cave divers stay within a limited distance from the entrance.

Technical Diver Level 1

Recent increased ocean exploration at greater depths has revealed a variety of hidden treasures, including deep pristine reefs, well-preserved wrecks, and valuable historical artifacts. However, venturing deeper bears inherent risks that can be mitigated with proper training, knowledge, teamwork, and gradual experience.

The GUE Tech 1 course prepares ambitious divers to begin their path to technical diving safely, with confidence, and with a base of solid skills and knowledge. This course also paves the way to GUE rebreather courses, to advanced technical GUE training, and to GUE project and exploration diving.
